"Life is not measured by the
breaths we take, but by the
moments that
take our breath away"

image

I have often dreamed,
of a far-off place
Where a hero's welcome
would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer,
when they see my face

And a voice keeps saying,
"This is where I'm meant to be"

I'll be there someday
I can go the distance
I will find my way
If I can be strong

I know every mile,
will be worth my while
When I go the distance,
I'll be right where I belong.

Down an unknown road, to
embrace my fate
Though the road may wander,
It will lead me to you.
And a thousand years,
would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime,
but somehow I'll see it through.

And I won't look back.
I can go the distance
And I'll stay on track,
no I won't accept defeat.
It's an uphill slope,
but I won't lose hope,

'til I go the distance
and my journey is complete.

But to look beyond the glory
is the hardest part,
For a hero's strength
is measured by his heart.

Like a shooting-star,
I will go the distance,
I will search the world,
I will face it's harms.
I don't care how far,
I can go the distance,
'til I find my hero's welcome
waiting in your arms.

About me

Where I live--a small town in SW Iowa.

What I do--Life Skills Coach--helping people with disabilities find jobs, a place to live, and learn to be as independent as possible.

My loves--my family, my 4 dogs (Scruffy, Sis, Maggie and Midget), my new red-plaid purse, old classic movies--with stars like William Holden, Audrey Hepburn, and Gregory Peck, the perfect cup of coffee (freshly ground) and a good book (I'm currently reading "The God of Small Things").

********************************************************************
Clay had me at "Take"! I got goosebumps hearing him sing his audition song and knew immediately he was someone special. It's been a blast following his career--meeting new friends at Clay events/concerts all over the country, giving back to others thru charity work, learning new tech skills in my quest for more and more clack. I feel very blessed to be a part of this wonderful journey we are on, and look forward to the coming year. The future looks very bright!
